Woke up this morning, found myself alone
As my eyelids opened
On ruffled paper by my side I see your hand
Said when I finally woke up, you'd be far away
From my life you'd be gone
I was dumbfounded, so I put the kettle on
And I had breakfast for two
And forgot all about you
It seemed the only thing to do
A golden loaf of bread in my hand feels soft
As I break it open
And in its warm, moist centre I spread some butter on
My bacon sizzes gently in the frying pan
As I add the mushrooms
Next to the crunchy hash browns
I think they're almost done!
And I had breakfast for two

It seemed the only thing to do
